LISSY TAYLOR: FIERCE

Following on from a string of highly successful summer releases in Young, She’s A Stunner and Healer, which have amassed nearly 40,000 Spotify streams, singer-songwriter, Lissy Taylor returns with empowering indie rock anthem, Fierce.

2022 has been a great breakthrough year for the Stoke native, who has called Manchester home, since returning from the USA in 2017.

The aforementioned singles have each been BBC Introducing Record of The Week at BBC Stoke, plays on BBC Radio 2 and Radio X. If that wasn’t enough she’s played storming sets across various festivals this summer, including YNot and Into The Wild Festival, before bagging a support slot with rising indie stars, Stanleys at O2 Manchester Academy.

Fierce is a triumphant and uplifting indie anthem, which as Lissy explains is inspired from a collection of poems written by women entitled “Fierce”:

“I bought a collection of poems written by women and thought that I would make ‘Fierce’ my next single title, inspired by women in creative industries, changing the landscape of what has been done before. Inspired by ambition, determination and unwavering self-belief. I started writing with the song title then I wanted a big chorus to match it, which seems to be a habit of mine”.

The songs lyrics are inspirational and fulled by a desire of overcoming whatever life throws at you, picking yourself up and having another go.

“Everytime I get knocked down it fuels my fire, And I rise higher, higher”

With Lissy’s soaring vocal and gritty guitars at the heart of Fierce, the song is uplifting, empowering and refreshing, which in times of hardship being experienced across the UK at the moment is a real breath of fresh air.

Lissy Taylor continues to release highly impressive anthems and I think that once you hear Fierce, you will be left in doubt that massive things are on the horizon.

Fierce is released on Friday 14th October and can be pre-saved here
