Poesie turns rekindled desire into a rush of sleek, unapologetic indie-pop on intoxicating new single ‘Undress Me’.
There is no coyness here. Opening with the admission that it has been a long time since she felt genuine desire for somebody, Poesie frames physical intimacy as something restorative — the return of a part of herself she feared had disappeared. “I thought I’d lost that part of me / That wants to be wanted, sexy,” she confesses, her delivery balancing vulnerability with growing anticipation.
The arrangement mirrors that awakening. What begins with a sense of restraint soon develops into a seductive, rhythmically charged soundscape, its pulsing low end and crisp electronic production creating an atmosphere that feels intimate without becoming overly polished. Poesie’s vocal remains the focal point: controlled and conversational through the verses, then increasingly expressive as the track moves into its hook-laden chorus.
“I wanna undress you / Give it all to me, all of you” is direct, but the song is driven by more than lust alone. The recurring connection between “alchemy”, “chemistry” and “poetry” transforms physical attraction into something almost elemental. It is desire presented as a meeting of bodies and minds, with Poesie confidently taking the lead rather than waiting to be pursued.
That authority is especially clear in the second verse. The playful “knock knock” lyric injects personality, while the shifting vocal rhythms heighten the feeling of two people becoming completely absorbed in one another. Even the stuttered “n-n-no, I don’t need to sleep” adds to the breathless momentum before the chorus returns with renewed force.
Yet ‘Undress Me’ is at its most charming when it allows humour to break through the sensuality. After describing a private world in which the boundaries between two people have dissolved, Poesie abruptly asks: “Do you want eggs, or cereal in the morning?” It is a wonderfully human detail — affectionate, funny and far more memorable than another perfectly posed declaration of passion.
By its closing moments, repeated cries of “I love you” overlap with the central refrain, revealing the emotional attachment beneath the song’s physical confidence. Sexy, playful and refreshingly candid, ‘Undress Me’ finds Poesie reclaiming desire on her own terms. What could have been a straightforward tale of attraction instead becomes a celebration of intimacy, self-assurance and the healing power of feeling wanted again.
