Some songs don’t shout for your attention — they pull you under.
Holy Coves’ latest single “Hole” is exactly that kind of track. A slow-burning, immersive piece of indie rock that doesn’t rush to make its point, but instead lets the emotion seep in gradually… and once it’s there, it doesn’t let go.
Built around brooding guitars and a weighty, spacious arrangement, “Hole” thrives on restraint. There’s a quiet confidence in the way the track unfolds — every note feels deliberate, every pause purposeful. It’s not about instant gratification; it’s about atmosphere, about tension, about letting the listener sit inside the feeling.
And that feeling? It’s heavy.
There’s a raw emotional core running right through the track — a sense of reflection, of internal struggle, of trying to make sense of something just out of reach. The vocal performance carries that weight brilliantly, never overreaching, but always cutting through with sincerity and presence. It feels lived-in… real… the kind of delivery that makes you believe every word.

Sonically, there are shades of expansive indie and alternative influences here — the kind of sound that feels just as at home in a dimly lit room as it does echoing out across a festival field. The guitars shimmer and brood in equal measure, while the rhythm section keeps everything grounded, allowing the track to build naturally without ever losing its sense of control.
‘After my Mum passed away last year it got me thinking a lot about death, and what does all this really matter after we’re gone. We all don’t have much time here. We really do need to make the most of the time we have, and to make each day count. If something’s wrong we really have to look at ourselves, and try to understand that only we can break the cycle of hurt. Finally letting go of that victim mindset, and accepting accountability is the only way to truly move forward. There really is always a light at the end of the tunnel, however hard it may seem”

But what really sets “Hole” apart is its patience.
In a world of instant hooks and quick hits, Holy Coves take their time — and in doing so, they create something far more lasting. This is a track that reveals itself with each listen, drawing you deeper into its atmosphere and emotional landscape.
Released on April 10th, “Hole” arrives at a pivotal moment for the band. With a Manchester headline show at The Lion’s Den on April 11th and a slot at Focus Wales Festival on May 8th, the momentum is very real — and growing.
Add to that the anticipation surrounding their fourth album “Hearth” — already surpassing its initial £5,000 crowdfunding target and pushing towards £7,500 — and it’s clear this is a band connecting on a deeper level with their audience.
“Hole” isn’t just another single — it’s a statement of intent.
A reminder that sometimes the most powerful songs aren’t the loudest… they’re the ones that stay with you long after the final note fades.
Hole is released on Friday 10th April.
