2023 continues to be a fantastic year for Welsh solo star Megan Wyn. She’s received rave reviews from her first headline tour, captured the imagination at numerous festivals and received plenty of radio support from Radio X (including a live session with John Kennedy), receiving Huw StephensArtist of The Week on BBC Radio Wales and other radio support from BBC radio London, BBC Radio Merseyside and the ThisIsTheMusic Rise of the Indie Artists show on Future Hits for her debut single You Don’t Get It, which is approaching 8k streams on Spotify.

The new single Familiar Faces is released on Friday 13th October and it’s an incredible single full of swagger and packs an almighty punch.

You are immediately hit with an opening guitar intro that provides a punchy backdrop, before Megan’s powerful and unmistakable vocal joins in with a rumbling bass line.

“Familiar Faces was written at the start of summer after breaking off a situationship with someone who let jealousy and other people come between us. It’s a bittersweet song about the love you have for this person but the angst and anger that comes with jealousy ruining something that could have been great”

Megan Wyn on Familiar Faces

I’ve said on many occasions since coming across Megan in 2021 that she is a superstar in the making and Familiar Faces just confirms those thoughts. Her voice is so powerful and so versatile in its style and, as soon as she starts singing you just know it’s Megan Wyn.

This is a real anthem, packed with a beautiful melody and plenty of energy. The guitar riffs complement the vocal perfectly with the punchy drums and rumbling bass lines adding extra fire to these anthem.

The scorching chorus is extremely catchy and I’m sure will be sung back by gig goers in the months and years ahead.

“Don’t leave me here, darling I’ve been waiting for you, through these years, don’t leave me here, darling I’ve been waiting for you all three years”

There’s no doubt about it that Megan Wyn is a fantastic artist. Her releases to date have been written from the heart and are instantly relatable. Familiar Faces is a modern day anthem that has raised the bar and with more to come in the months ahead, Megan Wyn will be a superstar sooner rather than later.

Familiar Faces is released on Friday 13th October and can be pre-saved here.
