Manchester new boys, Crook On The Wall set to release their debut single, Imperial Minds on October 14th.
The band who are aged 14-16 formed in March 2022 as an acoustic duo, with Cole Johnson (Vocals and rhythm guitar) and Elliot Carson (Lead guitar and backing vocals) playing the local gig circuit, before adding Ethan McCusker (Drums) and Adam Wood (bass) and spending a period of relentless rehearsing, writing and recording, ensuring Crook On The Wall have an array of new music lined up over the next months.
Imperial Mind was produced and mixed by Luke Owens (SHADE, Sarah Owens, Samm Hewitt) at Dusk till Dawn studios in Manchester.
Crook on The Walls are set to release their debut single Imperial Mind on 14th October and it’s a highly accomplished debut that will live long in the memory.
The song starts off with a spine-tingling and captivating guitar riff that provides a platform for the rest of the band and a unique sound.
Cole Johnson’s vocal is stunning, making a powerful statement and is one of the best vocals around, that has both range and depth, that intertwined with the rolling, haunting guitar riff, that swirls underneath and sets you up for anthemic chorus.

I like how for the last verse that the vocal switches to Elliot Carson, which is really melodic and a complete contrast to Cole’s and it complements the overall sound and mood of the song perfectly.
In the middle section we are treated to a glorious guitar riff, that allows the rumbling bass lines and drums to shine and showcase the quality of musicianship on display.
Imperial Mind is packed full of melodies, thought provoking lyrics, providing deep insight into many politically challenging areas of society, and one of the best vocals you’ll hear, which creates a powerful and melodic tone. It’s an emotional rollercoaster and a powerful statement from a band that are bringing different vibe to the new music scene. Crook On The Wall are set to be a name on everyone’s lips.
Imperial Minds is released on Saturday 14th October and can be pre-saved here.
Crook On The Wall support PureStan at the Manchester Academy 3 on September the 29th. Tickets are on sale here.
