Lady Blue Sky Gazelle

Gazelle are a 4-piece from Leicester and they are set to release their most ambitious song to date. Lady Blue Sky is released on Thursday 15th June and it’s an infectious track with psychedelic grooves, electrifying riffs and soaring harmonies.

The band consists of Ryan Dunn (Vocals/Guitar), Ben Gooch (Guitar), Richard Sorbi (Bass) and Danny Wright (Drums) and are determined to keep their sound fresh with previous singles influenced/inspired by Northern Soul and Britpop, ensuring they take chance by engaging with new audiences and having utmost confidence in changing their sound, accomplishing this with ease.

Lady Blue Sky, starts off with a Beatles reference with a spoken word introduction, “The sun is out, the sky is blue, Its beautiful, Won’t you come out to play”. Before a big pounding drum, electrifying guitar riff and a groovy bass line kick in and give the song its energy.

“We are four working class lads who are uninspired by today’s music charts writing real music. We were brought together by a mutual love of British subcultures.”

Harmonious Aaaahs intertwine with the rhythmic melody, which are a big feature throughout the track. There’s plenty of 60s psychedelic with a fresh modern day take, with plenty of swagger throw into the mixer.

The harmonies are glorious and Ryan’s vocal is one of the best I’ve heard and his passion for his craft is there for all to hear.

The guitar hooks are stunning and the groove in this song is evident from the first beat to last and will have you pressing repeat over and over. Every time you play it, something new will grab your attention.

“Still you gotta keep grooving on
Keep on trucking into the sun
Lady blue sky”

There’s a surprising break up of the song that sees an acoustic guitar drive the song along, with the bassline and vocal. Not only does this allow the vocal to take centre stage, it also shows the quality of musicianship within the band and their determination to keep their sound fresh and exciting.

Lady Blue Sky is a fantastic tune. You can hear some of the bands influences within the track, particularly 60s psychedelic. With a mightily impressive and ever growing back-catalogue, Gazelle are set to release a tune of biblical proportions and show exactly why they are one of the most exciting and hottest bands around.

Lady Blue Sky is released on Thursday 15th June and can be pre-ordered on iTunes here.
