THE Q’s are a 5 piece rock band from north west London now based in Leeds and consist of Leo Grace (Vocals), Freddie Franchi (Rhythm Guitar), Dexter Burningham (Lead Guitar), Mattia Paganelli (Drums) and Ben Woolford (Bass).
Starting originally in a year 9 music class, many years of procrastination passed before they released their first song, IN NEUTRAL on New Years Eve 2021, which has since gained over 10,000 streams. They went on to release their second single, TRANQUILO in 2022 and on Friday 7th April, release their 3rd single a Movies.
Opening with an energetic drumbeat and infectious guitar riff, Movies wouldn’t have sounded out of place in the early noughties music scene, whilst maintaining a freshness and excitement.
The melody is vibrant and uplifting and gives the track a real summer vibe. The guitars intertwine with each other effortlessly and there’s a fantastic bass solo that takes centre stage, before the drums and catchy guitar riff lead us into the songs outro which really emphasises the quality of musicianship within the band.
The lyrics are relatable and I think this is a song that will be extremely well received from existing fans and newcomers to the band alike.
There’s a real summery vibe about the track and the melody is one that has been stuck in my head since I first heard the demo of the track.
I’m predicting big things for The Q’s from now on and can’t wait to see what they have got in store for us next! Up The Q’s!
