Derby band Capes set to release anthemic debut single
Having been in various bands over the years long-term friends Daniel Parkin (Lead singer/guitarist) Liam Bater (drummer and backing vocalist) and Jordy Baines (bass and backing vocalist) decided to get together for a jam and, after relentless rehearsing, they stepped out onto their local gig circuit and quickly established themselves as a live favourite.
The bands debut release is called 4AM and lyrically it’s based on a love story, from the viewpoint of the person who is second guessing where there partner is late at night and wondering if the partner wishes the scorned person was dead.
“It‘s 4AM, and you still ain’t home, I bet your fucking your ex while I’m on my phone”
4AM is an infectious track and I was instantly hooked by the swirling guitar intro, that just screams arena ready, which leads us into the songs anthemtic driving rhythm, jangly guitar hooks and an irresistible melody that combined with the songs lyrics will have you toe-tapping and singing along to.
The production on this track is superb and you can certainly hear the hours of practice the band have put in so so far is very evident, as they sound so accomplished.
4AM is a fantastic debut single and leaves you excited for what is to come next from Capes, as they are a band who will be playing arenas sooner rather than later.
4AM is released on Saturday 6th August and can be pre-saved here.
Capes are also set to release their debut EP on Friday 12th August.
