Ed Cosens, guitarist and co-lead song writer of Reverend & The Makers is set to release his debut solo album, Fortunes Favour, on April 9th.

The album features 10 songs, all which are full of emotion and are utterly spellbinding from the first song to the last. Each song tells its own story, dealing with real life situations and enables Ed’s ability as a song writer and singer to really stand out.

The influences of Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Echo and the Bunnymen and Richard Hawley in terms of telling stories is evident across the album, but done in Ed’s own style.

Throughout the album we are treated to beautiful arrangements; guitars, strings (most evident on Last To Know) and Ed’s vocal delivery, which allow you to fully immerse yourself in each song.

Standout tracks are Running on Empty (exquisite story telling fused with brilliant strings) If (utterly mesmerising with a beautiful melody): Madeleine: (folk rock meets grunge thanks to the guitar in the bridge): Lovers Blues (a love song and a bass line you can groove to) and The Pantomime (which has a stadium style chorus).

Recorded at Giant Wafer Studios in Wales and produced by Ed and Dave Sanderson – aided in the recording room by Milburn’s Joe Carnall and The Crookes’ Adam Crofts –Fortunes Favour is a brilliant and insightful look into Ed’s world and showcases his talent that could lead to him continuing with a solo career in the future.

Fortunes Favour is released on Friday 9th April and can be ordered here
