Outta Reach – iC1s

Some bands return. Others reignite.

iC1s do the latter.

With Outta Reach, (released 27th March) the London five-piece don’t just follow up their long-awaited debut album, What Took You So Long,— they kick the door off its hinges and stride into a new era with swagger, intent, and a point to prove.

This is a band that have lived it all — the early hype, industry backing, a near-miss at greatness, and a decade-long silence before roaring back to life.

Now, Outta Reach feels like the moment where everything finally aligns.

From the first note, the track surges forward with urgency — all driving guitars, punchy rhythms and that unmistakable British rock ‘n’ roll attitude. There’s a widescreen quality to it, the kind of anthem built equally for sticky-floored venues and sun-drenched festival fields.

But where Outta Reach really hits is in its emotional core.

“If I believe it then it’s real… but until then I guess I’ll feel like it’s outta reach”

It’s a line that cuts through the noise — capturing that universal frustration of chasing something you can’t quite grasp. Love, success, peace of mind — it’s all just beyond your fingertips. And iC1s bottle that feeling perfectly, turning it into a chorus that feels both defiant and defeated at the same time.

That tension is what elevates the track. There’s hope in there — buried beneath the grit — but it never comes easy. Even when the song opens up, there’s still a sense of longing running through it, giving Outta Reach a depth that goes far beyond your standard indie anthem.

And yet — make no mistake — this is an anthem.

Big, bold, and built to be shouted back at full volume, it’s the kind of track that will go off live — and with a debut performance lined up at Manchester’s Deaf Institute, you can already picture the scenes.

What makes this release even more compelling is what it represents.

This isn’t just another single — it’s a statement.

After everything — the setbacks, the split, the comeback — Outta Reach sounds like a band who’ve rediscovered their purpose and doubled down on it. The hunger is real. The belief is back. And crucially, the songs are there to match.

iC1s aren’t chasing the moment anymore — they’re creating it.

Verdict

A towering return that blends raw emotion with undeniable indie-rock swagger, Outta Reach is the sound of a band turning unfinished business into something unmissable.

Outta Reach is released on Friday 27th March and can be pre-saved here.
