Welsh rock outfit Holy Coves released Falling Down in October 2025, which has powered past 23,000 Spotify streams and provided fans with a first glimpse into their forthcoming fourth studio album Hiraeth, which is set for release on vinyl and CD on 14th August 2026 via the band’s own DIY label, Snowdonia Records. The album is being supported by loyal fans through a crowdfunding campaign, which is fast approaching it’s target.

Known for blending mythic Welsh identity with towering modern rock sonics, Holy Coves continue to carve out a sound that feels both ancient and urgent. Falling Down marks the opening chapter of the album’s story, immediately setting the tone for what promises to be their most emotionally charged work yet. The track featured in the ThisIsTheMusic Top 40 singles of 2025.

Accompanying the release is a striking music video which deepens the atmosphere surrounding the track. The visuals mirror the song’s haunting emotional core, capturing the reflective and cinematic mood that runs throughout Falling Down. It’s the kind of video that invites you to sit with the song’s meaning — amplifying the sense of memory, loss and quiet resilience that sits at the heart of the track.

Sonically, the track builds from a lo-fi, distorted groove into something far more expansive. A deep, rolling bassline anchors the arrangement while hypnotic rhythms and heartbeat-like drums pulse through the mix. Layered over the top are gritty, soaring guitars that gradually swell into a widescreen, festival-ready anthem. There’s a raw groove running through the track — earthy, hypnotic and full of momentum — while Marsden’s distinctive vocal delivery carries the story with an almost storytelling-bard quality.

It’s that balance of grit and atmosphere that makes Holy Coves so compelling. Their music always feels rooted in something older — Celtic, mystical, reflective — yet the sound itself is unmistakably modern. Falling Down captures that duality perfectly, blending heavy grooves with introspective storytelling and stadium-sized ambition.

More than just another single, Falling Down feels like the emotional gateway into Hiraeth. It’s a song about loss, memory, and the quiet strength required to keep moving forward, carrying on through the darkness, to get up and go again into the Celtic Dawn.
