Scottish newcomers, Decade arrive with all the sharpness and swagger of a band already deep into their stride, not one dropping their debut. Their first single Lady out Friday 28th November, is a statement of intent: It’s bold, brooding, and beautifully self-assured, the kind of debut that doesn’t ask for your attention, it takes it.
From the off, Lady unravels with a cool, shadow-drenched composure. The first shimmer of guitar, produce a widescreen melancholy with a pulse that grows tighter and more relentless as the track unfolds. Fin Clark and Harry Moir trade guitar lines that flicker between dusk-drenched atmosphere and cutting, razor-bright bite, building tension in all the right places. Beneath that, Alfie Hudson anchors the whole thing with a brooding bass presence, doubling up on backing vocals that give the chorus its extra lift and emotional crackle.
At the front of it all is Brandon Martin, delivering a vocal that balances cool restraint with a kind of aching intensity — the sort of voice that doesn’t shout to be heard, it just pulls you closer. His performance sits right in that sweet spot between defiance and vulnerability, whilst delivered with a real swagger.
And driving the entire thing forward is Ollie Serle, whose drums shift from heartbeat subtlety to full-stride urgency, snapping the song into life each time the band push into another gear.

The chorus lands with real weight: expansive, melodic, built for late-night drives or sweat-stained small-venue ceilings
What’s most striking about Lady is how cohesive it sounds. This is a debut with real identity: no guesswork, no searching for a lane. Decade already sound like a band with purpose, vision, and an instinct for crafting something cinematic without sacrificing grit.
A debut this self-assured doesn’t come around often. Decade aren’t just stepping onto the scene with Lady — they’re kicking the door open and walking straight through it. A new Scottish force has arrived.
Lady is released on Friday 28th November and can be pre-saved here.
