London quartet Maze return with Ziggy, a track that sharpens their sound and underlines why they’re one of the capital’s most exciting new guitar bands.

Originally released as part of the double A-side to their debut vinyl I Know You Know, Ziggy now steps into the spotlight on its own — and rightly so. The song is a wiry, urgent slice of indie rock, all jagged guitars, propulsive basslines and a vocal that balances grit with vulnerability. It’s the kind of track that instantly grabs you, but also reveals new textures with each listen.

There’s a restless energy at the heart of Ziggy. The riffs snap and dart, the rhythm section locks into a driving groove, and the vocal delivery cuts straight through with conviction.

The delivery gives the song its heartbeat, with lyrics that dance between introspection and attitude. Ziggy has shades of classic British indie swagger but never leans on nostalgia; instead, Maze inject their own fresh urgency and cementing their knack for crafting songs that connect on both emotional and visceral levels.

Ziggy is the sound of a band finding their stride, a statement single that demands attention, and one that’s already captured the imagination and minds of the bands ever growing and loyal fan base.

If Maze’s early releases hinted at their potential, Ziggy makes it unmistakable, capturing the spirit of the band and hints at even bigger things to come.

Ziggy is released on Friday 5th September.

Maze were guests on episode 147 of the ThisIsTheMusic meets podcast, available now on You Tube, Spotify and all podcast platforms.
