Hailing from Fife, Scotland, Arienas are a 4 piece indie rock band oozing energy and plenty of swagger.
Emerging from Edinburgh’s ever-thriving indie scene, Arienas have supported the likes of Louis Berry, Sam Scherdel and Sergeant, building a loyal following and becoming know for their ability to deliver storming live sets that bring the house down no matter the venue.
The band have just released their stunning debut single Aurelia, that introduces Arienas as a band ready to take centre stage.
From the opening moments, Aurelia pulls you into a swirling dreamy soundscape where ambient textures, chiming guitars, and haunting vocals converge in hypnotic harmony.
The track builds slowly, inviting the listener into a dreamy, introspective space before swelling into a full-bodied crescendo. Echoes of artists like Radiohead, Cigarettes After Sex, and even early Bon Iver come through, but Arienas wear their influences lightly, carving out their own sonic identity from the outset.
Lyrically, Aurelia touches on themes of longing, fragility, connection, and the spaces we occupy between hope and heartbreak. The vocal performance is raw yet restrained, allowing the track’s emotions to seep through naturally: It’s a performance that feels both intimate and universal.
Aurelia is the kind of song that lingers long after the final note not because it’s loud, but because it whispers something personal.
Though this is only their first release, Arienas already display the kind of self-assurance and emotional depth that many bands take years to find.
Aurelia feels cinematic yet intimate, pulling from post-rock and dream pop influences while carving out something fresh. Arienas are clearly a band with vision and for a debut, this is seriously accomplished stuff. If Aurelia is any indication, Arienas are a serious new presence in Scotland’s indie landscape, thoughtful, cinematic, and rich with promise. A band to watch closely in 2025
