Those Heavy Souls return with their 3rd single ahead of debut album.
Having been the frontman and main songwriter in Welsh Rock’n’roll outfit Columbia, Craig Lewis’ solo project Those Heavy Souls came bursting onto the indie scene with two extremely well received singles in How High Is Too High? and Everything’s Changing and a long awaited Christmas EP, which has brought over 7k Spotify streams.
The new single, Come Alive, is an acoustic-driven anthem bursting with explosive energy and an irresistible tempo. It’s bold, infectious, and built to get stuck in your head—an instant toe-tapper that refuses to let go, that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Noel Gallagher High Flying Birds album.
It hits hard with pounding, no-nonsense drums and a gritty wall of strummed guitars, that surge with momentum.
Craig’s vocal is immense and packed with plenty of emotion, soaring above the instrumentals without overpowering them.
Since the initial demo, Craig has added an extra middle 8 has been written to act as a bridge between the final rousing chorus and lift the song into a higher gear. Bringing in vocalist Asher Jane (who previously provided vocals on Columbia’s single Glory People), she’s achieved that and more! The final chorus soars, making it a big and bold finale.
Lyrically, the track carries a message of resilience and captures the spirit of perseverance, echoing the Welsh phrase “Yma O Hyd” – we’re still here, and we’re still fighting.
Come Alive is backed by a thrilling and thunderous Bside in Run From The Gun, a raw, electrifying cut that sneaks up and smacks you with its urgency. Gritty guitar lines weave through punchy, rhythms. It’s the kind of track that feels like a secret—unpolished, unapologetic, and impossible to forget.
Come Alive gives fans an exciting taste of what’s to come from the forthcoming album, which promises more of the same: oozing quality songwriting and massive, high-energy tracks designed to blow the roof off any venue. Bring It On!
Come Alive is released on Friday 25th April.
