London 5-piece Emergency Break’s new single “Dollface” is a bold, bittersweet punch to the gut — in the best way possible.
Made up of Leo Gerchen (Vocals), Joe Adams (Lead Guitar), Ewan Hawkins (Bass), Oran Docker (Rhythm Guitar), and James Brooks (Drums), the band have amassed over 45k Spotify streams and earning a reputation for belting tunes, riotous melodies, and infectious stage presence, which has seen them tearing through London’s live circuit with a sound and energy that’s impossible to ignore, selling out the iconic Camden Assembly, within six months of forming and turning every other venue — from the O2 Academy Islington to Old Blue Last and Dublin Castle — into a high-voltage indie rock party, earning a reputation as one of the capital’s most thrilling new acts.
Dollface is a powerhouse of a track and sees the band launch into a pulsating, fuzzed-out guitar riff that demands attention, setting a tone that’s equal parts danger and allure.
Lyrically, the track dives into the tragic story of Jane, a young girl consumed by the fleeting highs of online fame, offering a searing reflection on modern-day desensitisation among teens. It’s messy, it’s real, and it makes Dollface feel like more than just another indie rock jam — it’s a snapshot of emotional chaos you can dance (or break down) to.
The vocals carry a mix of swagger and heartache, making every lyric feel both pointed and personal.
The chorus hits hard, with a infectious hook that you’ll be still be humming hours after hearing it. It’s the kind of track that feels like it belongs equally in a packed club show and on a late-night drive with nowhere to be.
With electrifying guitar riffs and raw, soul-stirring lyrics, Dollface, will pull listeners in and refuse to let go, leaving you no choice but to hit repeat. It’s a big statement of intent from the band who are ready to conquer bigger stages Emergency Break are not just ones to watch — they’re the future of indie rock.
