Sheffield 4-piece end huge 2024 in one style with nostalgic upbeat anthem!
The 4-piece, who consist of Joseph Neville (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Thomas Martin (backing vocals and lead guitar), Joe Kneale (bass) and Luke Fieldsend (backing vocals and drums), formed in late 2021 and have amassed over 17K Spotify streams, released a debut EP, had their music played at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and played at iconic Dublin Castle in London and Leadmill in Sheffield, with the later sold out earlier this year.
The new single is the bands first new music release in nearly 12 months, which the band have spent, writing, recording and playing live.
From the first guitar riff to the final euphoric chorus First Kiss, encapsulates the exhilaration and innocence of a pivotal romantic moment. This indie rock anthem captures the essence of youthful spontaneity with its infectious energy and unapologetically bright melodies.
The driving beats pulls you in immediately, creating a sense of urgency that mirrors the nervous excitement of leaning in for that life-changing first kiss. The guitar work is crisp, weaving effortlessly around a bassline that seems to dance with anticipation. Layered atop is a vocal performance bursting with charm, tinged with just the right amount of vulnerability to resonate and backed admirably with sublime vocal harmonies that have got to be the most charming of 2024.
The lyrics are really poignant, painting vivid pictures of shared laughter, stolen glances and the electric charge of that first kiss.
It’s a really positive track, with a highly infectious chorus that you’ll be humming it for days. The production is brilliant, without losing the emotion of the song.
It’s a song that’s instantly relatable, perfect for road trips, dance floors or those moments when nostalgia calls. First Kiss is a triumphant celebration of love’s early sparks and will have you hitting repeat over and over again.
First Kiss is released on Friday 22nd November
