In addition, Hazy Sundays have enjoyed mainstream radio attention from the likes of John Kennedy at Radio X and Sirius Xfm in LA.
Get Some was recorded at Gorbals Sound Studios in Glasgow and marks a triumphant return for Hazy Sundays, who are undoubtably one of Scotland’s most exciting emerging artists.
Get Some is a high-octane, out and out banger, with infectious guitar riffs, powerhouse drumming and the bands trademark energy. From the moment they kick in, the riffs are irresistible, immediately grabbing your attention with their infectious energy.
The shimmering chords blend seamlessly with a driving rhythm, creating an atmosphere that feels both uplifting and anthemic. There’s a certain nostalgia to the sound, evoking the golden era of indie rock: jumping around with your mates and having the time of your life, creating an atmosphere of carefree excitement.
Whilst the track starts off as a full-on rocknroll anthem, Hazy Sundays, lower the pace in the verses, allowing you to catch your breath, before cranking the pace up for the chorus. The bridge line “Get Ready, Hold Steady” fits the sound perfectly, along with “Old time rock n roll” provides the perfect does of nostalgia. It’s a great bit of musicianship and adds depth and texture to the bands creativity.
The vocals are full of swagger, exuding a cool confidence, whilst maintaining that Gallagher like snarl, which provides the track with additional power.
The song builds to a finishing chorus that comes to a crushing crescendo as the song soars and swaggers to a triumphant finale.
Get Some is a triumphant release that coupled with its energetic delivery, punk rock attitude and catchiness, ensure this it’s a standout in a highly impressive back catalogue. It’s a track that’s impossible not to love and jump along to.
Get Some is released on Friday 27th September and can be pre-saved here.
