Adam Thomas Hughes is a new singer-songwriter from Newton-le-Willows and he is set to release his highly anticipated debut single “The Long Way Home” on Friday 16th August.
Having received huge praise from the likes of Ryan Breslin, lead guitarist of high-flying indie rockers The Ks (“I LOVE THIS KID!!”) and rising solo artist Alex Spencer (“Absolutely amazing, I love it lad, that’s PROPER!”), Adam is set to release an anthemic and highly infectious debut single that draws influence from the likes of Sam Fender and Catfish and the Bottlemen.
The Long Way Home is a sleek, high-octane track that is driven along by the track’s pulsating beats and shimmering synths, whilst the catchy guitar hooks add an upbeat feel, which will have you toe tapping along in an instant. In fact the entire sound is both infectious and hypnotic and is driven expertly by Will Crump (bass, backing vocals and lead guitar) and Dan Bretherton (drums)
The lyrics explain the feelings every boy has had when the girl he loves chooses a different direction and you can feel the outpouring of emotion in the melodic and powerful vocal, which is magnificent.

The production is polished and crisp, yet it retains an authentic indie rock feel, making it an anthemic track that you’ll want to listen again and again. The introduction of soft key strokes around the two minute twenty (2:20) is a sign of an artist who isn’t afraid to try different sounds and wants to keep on evolving his sound, whilst building an intrigue and wonderment as to which direction the track is heading.
The chorus, with its catchy hooks and anthemic lyrics, ensures this track truly is a highly impressive debut single from Adam Thomas Hughes and I suspect that will be hearing a lot from him in the weeks and months ahead. I for one, cannot wait.
The Long Way Home was recorded at Dusk till Dawn Studios by Luke Owens (SHADE; The Notion; The Haciendas; Two of the Same), and is released on Friday 16th August and will be available on all podcast and streaming platforms.
