Making their London live debut, Tivertons were absolutely fantastic tonight and delighted the strong crowd in attendance at The Star in Shoreditch.
Unperturbed by the decision of their drummer to quit the band earlier in the week, the band drafted in an emergency drummer during soundcheck to ensure each song was played exactly how the singles have been released but with an added flair and edge.
Opening up with Time, a song that really swaggers, Tivertons raced through their set, showcasing the vast majority of their releases to date, including Pay The Fine (those celestial and infectious guitar hooks are somehow enhanced live) and Reaching Out.
Each track is packed with huge choruses and piercing vocals that leave you mesmerised and allows you to completely escape into the music.
Showing the bands inner confidence and self-belief, they played unreleased track Blame It On Mr John, which really showcased frontman Leo Herriot’s fantastic vocal, before recent single (and the bands self-confessed best release yet) Burning The Candle At Both Ends and debut single The Way You Call My Name, which prompted the biggest sing along of the night, rounded the set off in mighty fine style.
Each track is belted out and supported with excellent musicianship and a chemistry on stage that’s second to none.
Tonight’s gig confirmed that Tivertons are a band that have all the ingredients to rise to the top of the new music scene.
Tivertons appeared on episode 68 of the ThisIsTheMusic meets podcast in 2023. Listen to it on Spotify.
