Grace Calver is a singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist from the Suffolk/Essex border.
Since releasing her own music in 2022, Grace has released six singles, a debut EP (My Life and it’s disasters) and been awarded plenty of accolades along the way including: best Solo Female, at the NMG Awards (New Music Generator; Best Solo Artist award for 2023 at The Six Six bar awards in Cambridge and supported the likes of The Lottery Winners; Alfie Templeman; Toploader; Leah Weller; Low Girl; and Apollo Junction.
Her music to date has been tongue in cheek references to Grace’s dating life and how she always wants the person who is wrong for her. However, there is a happy ending to Grace’s dating life, as her new single is all about the start of a new relationship, dancing around in kitchens, singing along at full volume on road trips and most of all someone who makes her laugh!
It marks the second single of her “crush” era and the track is fantastic from start to finish and has a real summer feel good vibe to it.
The instrumentals are brilliant and includes the addition of live birdsong, cowbell and kalimba that ensures this uplifting track has a really addictive sound.
It’s a heartwarming dreamy indie pop song with sun kissed melodies, funky bass lines and lyrics that are instantly relatable “you’re the one that makes me dizzy, can’t think straight when you’re with me, you’re hotter than the sun”
You really feel Grace’s emotions in her vocal and you can almost hear her smile as the joy at finding her happy ending is apparent.
Ultimately Hotter Than The Sun is a song full of hope, passion and love that’s highly engaging and assured and sees Grace get her happy ending. ☀️ ☀️☀️☀️☀️
