Glasgow indie rockers, Hazy Sundays are set to release one of the finest EPs of 2024 and showcase exactly why the band are definitely worth getting excited about.
Forming in August 2022, Hazy Sundays consist of Shaun Kenny (Vocals and Rhythm guitar), Mark Devlin (Lead Guitar), Ross Mcdonald (Bass) and Peter Millar (Drums) the band have released 8 singles, amassing nearly 40k Spotify streams and supported the likes of Reverend And The Makers, and played alongside the like of Bez (Happy Mondays) and Chris Helme (The Seahorses).The band have had some mainstream radio attention on recent releases from the likes of John Kennedy at Radio X and also been played on Sirius Xfm in LA.

Misfire, quite literally comes firing of the traps. You are immediately hit with an explosive guitar riff which has a real punk edge to it, before thumping drums and pounding bass lines provide the song with its raw energy and drive. There’s a brief respite from the relentless pace, before a final explosion ahead of the outro, which will get gig goers bouncing again, before the song ends in a delightfully display of feedback.
Where The Devil Decides is the brand new single and its full of groove, swagger and is a great statement of intent for a lead single. The groove of the song provides an early Kasabian dance-y backdrop, whilst still retaining its punk edge in those scintillating guitars, and the solo from Marko will leave you awestruck – he is clearly one of the finest guitarists around right now. The chorus is one filled with guitars and pulsating drums and bass lines and one of Shaun’s finest vocals to date. The outro is a stunning display of guitars, held together by the rhythmic bass and drums and this outro leaves you wondering what direction they’d go when they play it live.
Never Know was the bands debut single and will leave you blown away. It’s a song that the band have cranked everything up to 10 and created an unrivalled wall of sound. The track is built around exciting guitar riffs and hooks, that will immediately captivate you. The rumbling bass lines and powerful drumming provide the song with its relentless pass and snarling vocal adds that punk edge.
Off The Cuff is a juggernaut of a tune. An energetic and swaggering guitar riff immediately fills the soundscape and ensures this track packs a punch from the off. It’s impossible not to love this track from the snarling vocal, thrilling guitar solos, pounding drums and thunderous bass lines there’s a real energy and drive in this track making it totally absorbing.
Lose It All starting off with a barrage of pounding drums, Lose It All is fast paced and relentless from start to finish. It’s no holds barred rocknroll, with the bands high energy really evident on this track as the sound of the track hits you like a runaway express train.
Wires is an emotional and heartfelt acoustic ballad, that’s a tribute to frontman Shaun Kenny’s late mum, who passed away with cancer. The emotion on Shaun’s vocal is evident throughout and the poignant lyrics are instantly relatable. With haunting riffs throughout, the vocal really takes centre stage of the song. There’s still space for the bands trademark guitar solo to fill the soundscape which adds another layer of emotion to the song, before some stunning tricks lead are added into the finale. A fitting tribute.
Give Me Some Dopamine is an energetic and exciting release, fill of classic rocknroll energy and will have you instantly captivated and excited in equal measure. The EP is full of swagger, plenty of punk spirit and is undoubtedly one of the EPs of 2024.
