Sonnet are a new and exciting band hitting the indie scene. The four piece are from the north east of Scotland and consist of Nathan Evans, Archie Hart, Louis Alexander and Thurston Livesey.
Forming in early 2023, and influenced by the likes of The Snuts, The Verve, Ride and Oasis, Sonnet, have made a major impression on the indie scene, with the release of their debut single Another Life.
Opening up with a chugging bass line that provides the song with its drive and energy, you are immediately hit with a sense that this band are the real deal. Pounding drums and heavy distorted guitar riffs soon fill the air, packing a real punch and showing off some impressive musicianship in the process.
The vocal is both strong and raw in equal measure, which really emphasises the punk vibe of the track and keeps you captivated.
The energy and swagger of the track is in evidence throughout and really sets the tone for what Sonnet are striving to bring in their songs: highly addictive rocknroll.
The tracks finale is equally as impressive as everything that’s come before it. The guitar solo is sizzling and just adds to the drive and energy of track.
Another Life is a track that is instantly catchy and will be stuck in your head all day, it’s a completely different sound to anything else that’s out there and it makes the song bother refreshing and appealing. This is a mightily impressive debut single from Sonnet and I cannot wait to see what they’ve got in store next!
