Manchester’s 5-piece SHADE return with epic new single, Break Out slated for release on March 15 via Golden Robot Records.
The new single marks the start of what promises to be a prolific year for the Manchester band who caught the eye of former One Direction member and solo artist Louis Tomlinson, who, after hearing their previous single, Illusive Dreams, personally invited the band to support and perform at his annual Away From Home Festival in Italy last year, alongside well known artists such as Blossoms and The Cribs.
Now the band who consist of Luke Owens (Guitar, lead vocals); Adam Taylor Clare (Bass guitar, backing vocals); Oliver Clare (Drums, backing vocals); Ben McDonough (Lead guitar) and Mac Anthony Mcartney (Keyboards, backing vocals), enter an exciting new era both sonically and lyrically, and sees them collaborate with renowned hit-maker Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Sherlocks, The Blinders, The Twang, Robert Plant, Paolo Nutini) at the prolific Magic Garden Studios.
Break Out is a simply stunning track. It’s infused with energetic drums and a stomping bass line that really shine throughout and the foundations for Luke’s powerful and passionate vocal.
The track has a real euphoric and upbeat feel as the lyrics implore you, to “break out” and “do what you wanna”.
The energetic drums, provide the song with an upbeat energy, which wrap itself around the Wah Wah infused guitar hooks and bouncing bass lines. The guitars have a strut and swagger about them that only a band from Manchester can have.
The captivating and powerful vocals have that quintessential Manchester vibe, which backed with this sonic era has a fresh and innovative twist.
Coming in at 2 minutes 37 seconds, you think you know what you are getting. However, a sensational spine tingling guitar solo fills the soundscape that builds into the final anthemtic chorus that is just waiting for you to sing along to.
Break Out is a song that will be in your head all day. It’s catchy, it gets the head nodding and the feet tapping. It has a great groove that is sure to fill indie dance floor up and down the country. You can sense the band are having a lot of fun with this new era and it’s a great track.
SHADE are undoubtedly one of the most exciting bands emerging on the indie scene. As they enter a new era, the band have managed to create a single that shows off their musical talents and shows exactly why they are a must listen to band.
