The Dead Flowerz are a 6-piece indie rocknroll band hailing from south Wales.
They describe their music “as rocknroll straight from the soul” and based on the evidence of their sizzling debut single Woke, that’s released on Thursday 29th February it’s easy to see why.
Consisting of Kyle Coombes (Lead Vocal and guitar); Alex Morgan (Lead Guitar); Lucy Jones (Rhythm Guitar); Dylan Clarke (Drums); Michael Hill (Bass); Carly Hutchinson (Vocals), The Dead Flowerz, who formed during COVID, soon realised they had something special and have spent the last 18 months writing, rehearsing and perfecting their sound, building up their fan base through local gigs and word of mouth.
The result is their highly infectious debut single, Woke, that was recorded at Leeders Vale Studios in Ebbw Vale (engineered by Jon Constantine and mastered by Nick Brine Oasis/The Stone Roses), is full of energy and has a vibrant upbeat feel that will have you up on your feet.
The song starts off with a strummed acoustic guitar pattern before driving drums, melodic basslines and a high energy hookable riff join in and sounds fresh and exciting.
The bands high energy will instantly grab your attention as the strumming acoustic guitars provide the foundation for the rest of the instruments to soar, in particular the guitar solo that is extremely infectious.
The vocal is really powerful and strong and has a bit of snarl and a punk vibe to it and really emphasises the point of The Dead Flowerz music being from the soul.
The chorus, which features brilliant harmonies, is really anthemic and the various tones really capture your attention and displays the quality of musicianship within the bands.
The songs groove provides plenty of swagger and the upbeat nature of the track will leave you wanting more.
The whole song is fantastic and is one that is uplifting and very catchy, the kind of song that will have you humming it all day.
Woke is released on Thursday 29th March and can be pre-saved here.
