Birmingham 4-piece The Mood are set to release their first single in 2 years!!
Comprising lead vocalist/guitarist Daniel Priestley, bassist Nathan Keevil, drummer Max Stanway and guitarist Jaimie Jagger, The Mood burst onto the indie scene in 2021 blending the infectious energy of Britpop, the raw dynamism of 2000s indie rock and the attitude of British punk. Influenced by the likes of Oasis, Blur, Arctic Monkeys, The Smiths and The Libertines, The Mood skilfully crafted a sonic tapestry that echoed the spirit of their predecessors while carving out a niche uniquely their own.
Produced by Alex Vine-Ruiz at Swan Studios using a hybrid of analogue and digital techniques, Maisie is released on Friday 23rd February and marks the first of 4 singles that are set to be released every 4 weeks, as the band attempt to make up for last time and establish themselves as one of the most exciting bands around.
Straight away you are met with a fantastic vocal, melodic and emotional backed with a catchy guitar hook and that infectious chorus (more of that in a moment).
The catchy drum and basslines provide the drive and the energy in the verses, giving a vibrant upbeat feel. You’ll be toe tapping along in an instant.

The great hookable riffs really come to the fore as part of an infectious chorus that will have you singing along to. In fact it’s so catchy you’ll still be singing it for days after you hear it!
Oh Maisie
How has your day been
You still amaze me
How you've got no love
Lyrically this song is entirely relatable, covering subjects that capture everyday life, love, and challenges of working-class youth, addressing social issues such as work, stress, love, anxiety, and lack-of social life. The song is based on a a friend of the bands singer Dan, with the anthemic chorus putting an arm around the shoulder and saying everything will be alright.
The use of “woahs” after the catchy chorus is extremely clever and just keeps the vibrant feel good vibe of the song alive.
The Mood’s return is much welcomed and shows exactly why they are a fabulous band. Maisie is a brilliant song, really infectious and the brilliant instrumentals, along with the vocals for me had my full attention from the very beginning. They have created a powerful, relatable and catchy single that will leave fans wanting more!
Maisie is released on Friday 23rd February and is available to pre-save now.
Maisie will be played on the Rise of The Indie Artists show on Thursday 22nd February on Future Hits Radio from 7pm.
