Manchester 4-piece Crook On The Wall come crashing into 2024 with a sensational rocknroll banger.
The band, who are 16 year olds, Cole Johnson (Vocals and rhythm guitar), Elliot Carson (Lead guitar and backing vocals), Ethan McCusker (Drums) and Adam Wood (bass), were formed in 2022 and spent the first year of their existence playing local gigs and relentlessly rehearsing to perfect their sound, intent on re-introducing the music that made Manchester so brilliant back.
Their debut song Imperial Minds, released in October, has totalled more 5,409 Spotify streams and featured on the ThisIsTheMusic Top 40 singles of 2023 countdown.
The new single, Final Fall was recorded at Dusk till Dawn studios in Manchester, by SHADE frontman Luke Owens, and it’s an energetic and floor filling rocknroll anthem, that sees the Mancunians racing out of the blocks of 2024 with a huge statement of intent.
Opening with an energetic guitar riff, that immediately grabs your attention, the racing drum beat sets the tone and drives the song at a thunderous pace, awaiting Cole’s majestic vocal performance, that evokes memories of Morrissey.
The song is full of swagger and oozes class from the get go. The rip-roaring guitar riffs and hooks dovetail perfectly with the pounding drums and thunderous bass lines that are topped off with the fine vocal that soars above the band’s energy.
The second half of the song, sees changes in drumming patterns and tempo, giving the listener a chance to catch their breath whilst showing the high-quality musicianship that exists within the band. Before the thunderous pace is picked up again, catapulting the song to its gripping finale, full of blistering guitar solos that are highly addictive and clever changes in drumming patterns before finishing in a crescendo of noise.
Crook On The Wall have shown in just two singles the self-confidence and class that is oozing throughout the band. Final Fall has plenty of swagger, drive and energy and is a huge statement of intent. It’s a modern day rocknroll banger that will put Crook On The Wall firmly on your radar.
