Lehi (Pronounced Lee-Hi) is a 24-year-old, solo artist from Hartlepool, Northeast England, who writes, plays, records, and produces his own music.
Being encompassed in music as a child, Lehi’s formative years were spent writing music and playing guitar in a local band.
LEHI’s passion for much really came to fruition in 2015 through recording music and spending hours locked away in his college music studio.
This led to the formation of the band The Eutony, who release 3 fabulous singles, before attending Leeds Beckett University studying music production, gradating in 2021 with a First Class degree.
After years of being in bands, performing around the Northeast and developing his craft, in 2023, Lehi decided he was ready to be a solo artist.
Having an eclectic taste, artists such as The 1975, Valley, MUNA and The Blue Nile inspired Lehi’s own music, with a focus on vocal production and luscious 80’s synths drowned in chorus.
Lehi’s journey will explore different genres to create a soundtrack to his life.
His debut single, I Think I’m Gonna Go Crazy has amassed over 11,000 Spotify streams and featured on over forty radio stations worldwide. He has been the Unsigned Artist and Record of the Week on two radio stations and his debut single made No.1 on the IT IS NOW RADIO TOP 20 and KB Radio Canada Indie TOP 40.
Now Lehi is ready to release his brand new single Shut The Door on 26th January. A track about dealing with a breakup and the emotions experienced whilst doing so.
The songs builds up with distant keys strikes that build pretty quickly and a catchy drum beat and synths before Lehi’s melodic, crisp and emotive vocal joins in.
The song is upbeat and features an infectious rhythm throughout, ensuring the soundscape is fantastic and is backed up with catchy guitar hooks and sizzling synths.
The chorus is huge and is guaranteed to have you singing along and, in just two singles, this is quickly becoming a trademark of the northeast native.
“I’m seeing, You’ve surely got a reason, I never thought that you would shut the door, I never had the guts to give you more”
The guitars shimmer throughout and the drum beat mixed with the sizzling synths, provide an 80s-pop feel: whilst making the sound his own.
Lyrically this song picks up where the debut left off. Rejected by a girl, the boy in the song attempts to find out what he did wrong, whilst continuing to be ignored, before vowing that he’s going to move on, but will never forget what’s happened.
Shut The Door is full of honest lyrics and matched with great musicianship on display throughout. This track will show that LEHI is an artist who has that happy knack of writing catchy pop tunes and is an artist who is here to stay.
Shut The Door is released on Friday 26th January and is available to pre-save here.
