Hertfordshire 5-piece round off their biggest year to date with a triple announcement.

LOCK-IN are undoubtedly one of the most exciting and bands to have emerged on the indie scene in the past three years. From selling out The Water Rats (the bands first gig), to launching West Ham United’s kit for the 21/22 season, performed on Soccer AM, plus further sell out gigs at Omera and The Garage, (the biggest night of their lives). If that wasn’t enough they’ve featured in several This Feeling festival bills including Isle of Wight, Rewired and this summer headlining Truck Festival. They’ve also completed a support tour with Australian group, The Terrys, which included the Herts bands first European dates. This has enabled LOCK- IN to gain a cult following for their energetic live shows that never fail to deliver.

The 5-piece consisting of Benjy Leak (Vocals); Joe Leak (Guitar); Angus Moore (Guitar); Ollie Stacey (Drums); and Sam Collins (Bass) are now preparing themselves for their biggest year yet. On April 27th they will be headlining London’s Lafayette, with their second EP, Onto The Next released on January 19th.

But before that they’ve got one final release in 2023, that rounds off a monumental year, with the release of Red Stripe Remedy on 8th December. Here’s the ThisIsTheMusic preview.

Opening up with a groovy Stone Roses style drum beat, before punchy driving guitar riffs, with melancholy synth textures take over and give the song its energy. Benjy’s melodic and passionate vocal, paints the story of a generation who are questioning some of their decision making, and wondering how they are are going to survive till the end of the day.

“Five red stripes for a fiver, 2 more goals, yellow card for a diver, lost fifty quid, cashed out for a fiver, Why the hell did I bet on him to score, Chucked all my money he’s not in the squad. I’ve lost it all all all”

The soaring anthemic guitar hooks really shine as do the groovy drum and bass patterns. The song has plenty of swagger and is full of class. It’s a real ear-worm of a track.

The melody is highly addictive and will keep you hooked. The sound is class and, with each release you can hear the bands ever growing confidence continue to grow.

At the end of the day, we’re all working our hardest – whether that be chasing a dream, trying to make ends meet or fighting something more underlying… We’re all human and we have to find love somewhere , along the way. That’s life, as the lyric goes.”

LOCK-IN’s sound is refreshing and crisp. It’s not your typical indie rock sound, with guitar solos, but there’s plenty of drive, energy and groove. Red Stripe Remedy will go down a storm with existing fans and bring new fans to the band in their droves. LOCK-IN are ready to fulfil our 2021 prediction that they are going right to the very top!

Red Stripe Remedy is released on Friday 8th December.

On To The Next, LOCK-IN’s second EP is set for release on Friday 19th January 2024.
