Scottish solo artist Mark Maclean returns with his first single in nearly two years when he releases his new single Fold Those Middle Pages Up on Friday 10th November.
The Greenock based singer songwriter draws influences from the likes of Neil Young, John Lennon, The La’s and various soul & rock and roll artists, with of writing captivating songs that will connect with the audience through relatable lyrics that build up to choruses that will get stuck in your head and make you want to sing along to.

Opening up with an upbeat and rhythmic guitar pattern and Mark’s powerful vocal that’s delivered with a real passion, you’ll be top tapping along immediately.
The break between the verses, sees intricate and captivating guitar hooks join in, which intertwine with the driving bass riff and piano raising the bar and his standing as a top class songwriter.
The verses have a real The Coral feel about them which lead you to these Beatles-esque harmonies in the bridge, which takes you into the wonderful infectious chorus that’s cleverly stripped back to acoustic guitar and vocal before building up into a crescendo and leaving you awestruck. The piano solo in the outro provides a real vibrancy to the song and elevates the sound to a height not previously seen on a Mark Maclean solo song.
