Forming in late 2021, Rosa Caelum are a fast rising 5 piece from the West Midlands. Consisting of Rob Mansfield on Vocals, Liam Tolley on Guitar, Travis O’Leary on Bass, Ben Marks-Baggott on Guitar and Sam Horobin on Drums, they spent 2022 relentlessly rehearsing, writing, recording and gigging in an attempt to perfect their skills and also found the time to release two demos Killed The King and Idiom) that were released in 2022 as a way of introducing the band to a wider audience.
2023 has seen the band release their first two singles The Lovers Were The Last Ones To Leave and Jerusalem, which have achieved over 35k streams, make their debut at a major UK festival (YNot Festival) and play two sold out headline shows at Sunflower Lounge and Dead Wax in Birmingham.
The new single, Heaven Once Told You, is set for release on Friday 3rd November and will see Rosa Caleum continuing to make waves on the alternative rock scene.
You are immediately hit with Rob’s powerful vocal and a blaze of scuzzy feedback, before thunderous drums and rumbling bass lines, along with a punchy, stomping guitar riff, crash into the song, providing a wall of sound that continues throughout the song.
There’s a feeling of a dark undertone to to the song, but the screaming guitar riffs, thunderous drums and powerful chorus provide the song with an explosive sound and a swagger that has quickly become the bands trademark.
The screaming guitar riffs really climb in the chorus, and have a real swagger about it and the way it intertwines with the vocal is magnificent and shows a class and maturity in the bands sound.
Heaven Once Told You is a song that sees Rosa Caelum deliver a track that’s heavier than their previous releases but still full of great melodies, which with the screaming guitar riffs will grab you in and leave you wanting more.
I’m totally addicted to this song and every Rosa Caleum release leads to a sense of excitement and urgency to press play for the first time. I’m a huge fan of Rosa Caelum and seeing them continue to impress and progress is fantastic to see. 2023 has seen Rosa Caelum lay a lot of ground work for bigger things that are set to come their way in 2024 and beyond!
