Salford 3-piece The Height return with new acoustic ballad I Know There’s More on Friday 27th October

Forming in late summer 2022 after meeting at a local open mic night, The Height consist of John Denton (Vocals/Lead Guitar), Brandon Greenalgh (Bass) and Ted Ellis (Drums) and have released 4 singles to date, earning considerable praise on the process. 2023 has proven to be a year that the lads will never forget: they’ve launched Salford City Football Club’s away and 3rd kits for the current season, formed a lasting friendship with the iconic guitarist and founding member of The Smiths, Jonny Marr and played their biggest headline show at the Salford Lads club at the end of September. If that wasn’t enough The Height have released 2 EPs, with the first one of those raising £390 for The Christie charity.

The new single, I Know There’s More, sees the band change tact as it’s acoustic driven ballad, whilst still retaining their trademark melodies and jangly guitar playing.

The arrangements and production are top class and are offset with the deep bass line and catchy drumming, it has a real upbeat feel about it and lyrically it’s a song about having ambition and great expectations and being hopeful.

John’s vocal is fantastic and you can hear his ever growing confidence in delivering The Height’s songs: the same can also be said of Ted and Brandon’s playing too.

The guitar hook in the outro is sublime and just keeps on climbing and sounds so crisp and melodic,

I Know There’s More is a great anthem with a real message of positivity. The sound is really accomplished and they’ve shown a different side to their songwriting with this song and have delivered another fantastic tune.

I Know There’s More is released on Friday 27th October and can be pre-saved here.
