Having released their debut album, Candlewood 230, to widespread acclaim in March 2023, Scottish indie alternative band, Box of Trash return with a triumphant new single that will put the Ayshire rockers firmly on the map.

Box of Trash initially started off as a side project by Lyle Kennedy (Vocals/ Song Writer) and Barry Chesterfield (Lead Guitar/ Song Writer), and realised that to fully unlock the potential of the project they need more band members. Jordan McKee (Drums) and Aiden Davidson (Bass) were added to the line up.

In early 2021, the band caught the attention of Chicago based record label Third Fire Records who invited them across the pond for a recording session which quickly became the backbone of the bands debut album Candlewood 230, which really showcases the quality of musicianship across the band.

Since the release of the album, Box of Trash have played a series of live shows across Scotland, including an acoustic set with the legend that is Jon McClure of Reverend and the Makers

The new single, Minnie’s Haberdashery, is set for release on Friday 13th October (which you’ll be able to hear ahead of its release on Thursday 12th on the ThisIsTheMusic Rise of The Indie Artists show on Future Hits) packs an almighty punch from the first best to the last and is the bands best single to date.

The track hits you immediately you a heavy hitting rumbling bass line, before delivering a delicious and classic rock guitar riff, that will have you nodding your head along to the mesmerising sound.

The song has a great energy, and is truly captivating that ensures you cannot ignore this powerful tune.

Lyle’s vocal compliments the song perfectly and softens the rocky, edge to the song.

The bass line gets showcased again, ahead of a sizzling guitar solo, which is worth checking out on its own. It’s full of scuzzy-ness and is a pure joy to listen to and will have you pressing that repeat button.

The influences of the golden era of British Rock, such as Sabbath and Zeppelin are evident throughout this song, but Box of Trash have well and truly put their own stamp on it and moved it in a new direction. The drumming in the solo in particular are glorious, without overpowering the focus of the guitar solo and ensure that the energy in the song remains high.

Box of Trash are back with a bang and are set to release one of the most exciting singles of the year that will bring the 4-piece wider attention and the recognition they richly deserve.

Minnie’s Haberdashery is released on Friday 13th October and can be pre-saved here.
