Fresh from their 5-date tour of the US (taking in venues in NYC and LA) and delivering highly impressive and well received sets across several UK festivals, Birmingham’s The Silver Lines, who are one of the most exciting bands on the new music scene, are back with their swaggering new single, Cast Away.
The Birmingham 4-piece consisting of Dan Ravenscroft (vocals); Joe Ravenscroft (guitars); Joe Cartwright (bass); Kindo (Drums); are set to release their new single Cast Away on Friday 18th August, an energetic and epic display of rocknroll.
The intro hits you straight away the pounding bassline and thunderous drumming, before a melodic fast-paced guitar riff drives the song along.
The guitars pack a punch and the guitar riffs are scintillating that intertwine with the thunderous bass and pounding drums. The song is topped off with a melodic vocal that soars above the bands energy.
Written whilst the band were in America, Cast Away, is a driving summer anthem, a perfect roadtrip style tune – car window open, sun beaming down, music pumping. Lyrically it deals with being away from the reality of home life and the anxiety’s, temptations and pleasures of being an ‘alien’ in a vast foreign country.
“I spend my whole life dragging a ball and Chain, where you gunna go now child, you’re a thousand miles away“
It’s a real upbeat, catchy and totally absorbing song that you’ll want to listen to time and time again.
The Silver Lines have taken things up a couple of notches with Cast Away. There’s a swagger and confidence about them and every release is exciting captivating and mesmerising. The Silver Silver Lines are ready to climb and be the next big thing on the indie scene.
Cast Away is released on Friday 18th August and is available to pre-save here.
