Baby, Bye is the explosive and epic debut single from singer/guitarist Issy Sutcliffe that’s a catchy foot-stomping anthem.
Formerly the front women for Manchester group, Dirty Blonde, Issy has gone solo and has delivered a song full of attitude, swagger and one that is highly addictive.
Starting off with pounding drums and a hint of feedback, Baby, Bye explodes into life with a thumping bass line and a energetic guitar riff that hooks you in and gives the song a punk vibe.
It’s a blistering and energetic track that is centred around coping with a breakup. Issy’s sultry vocal delivers that story perfectly and the memorable chorus is sung with real passion and added aggression and venom.
“then he turned around to me and he said, he’s dead, babe, baby bye, baby bye, I just don’t know how you cope”
Baby, Bye is upbeat and catchy, with punk-blues vibes that’s an absolute whirlwind of a track. It’s a no holes barred track, that I’m sure when Issy returns to playing live shows will go down a storm with gig goers.
For me, this is an explosive and exciting debut, that is unlikely to be bettered this year. It’s full of swagger, highly addictive and screams attitude. With her debut single under belt, Issy Sutcliffe has demonstrated exactly why she is one of the most exciting and promising talents emerging on the indie scene right now.
Baby, Bye is released on Wednesday 9th August
