Adrift Popclaw

Popclaw are a rock duo hailing from the south coast of England are set to release their 4th single Adrift on Friday 4th August.

Consisting of Dan Lawley and Chris Bird, Popclaw formed in 2022, through a mutual bond of Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Ramones, the lads have mashed up these band’s respective sounds, creating sharp original songs that have left a lasting impression.

The new single sees Popclaw depart from their usual punk and grunge sound and release a song that is less frantic and sees the pace dropped. Adrift is a reflective song which incorporates melodic guitars and is inspired by family and the craziness of current world. Continuing to show an alternative side to the band, Adrift features vocals from Dari from Indie Folk band ‘At The Starlight’.

The song starts off with a simple strumming of the guitar, before the melodic guitars, driving drums and whooh ooh backing vocals set the tone for true track ahead of the first verse.

The vocal is powerful and full of emotion and emphasises the attention to detail that Popclaw have added to this track.

Adrift is a real ear worm of a track that shows a completely different side to Popclaw. I like the feel of the song it’s catchy and it does surprise you as the song sounds so different to the bands previous releases. Adrift will leave you wanting more and that for me is the sign of a good song.

Adrift is released on Friday 4th August on all streaming and download platforms.
