Take It To The Streets Death of The High Street

Midlands 4-piece Death Of The High Street (DOTHS) return with their fantastic and relatable new single Take It To The Streets, which is set for release on Friday 30th June.

Having burst onto the scene in 2021 with the release of their debut single Exit, on Alan McGee’s It’s Creation Baby label, DOTHS, have continued to deliver infectious high-energetic anthems, telling tales of everyday life, ensuring they provide social commentary on difficult topics that are often ignored.

However, “Take It To The Streets” (TITTS) sees the 4-piece move away from anthemtic and raw and deliver a song that’s completely different to what they’ve released before and will certainly grab your attention, like a drunken slap around the face would!!

It’s a totally relatable track describing one man’s blistering account of a night out on the booze: Pint, shot, pint, whisky, pint, pint, shotTROUBLE. Perpetrator or victim, it’s all blurred lines when alcohols concerned and the band have left the lyrics on a bit of a cliffhanger to let the listener to decide who’s at fault. There’s only one thing for certain on a night like this… it’ll end with CHIPS AND CURRY SAUCE!

TITTS sees DOTHS fill the track with a unique sound and style which ensures they don’t test on their laurels and keep their music fresh and exciting. It’s a complete contrast to their last track, keeping fans and reviewers on their toes and that for me, is part of their appeal.

With excellent tempo changes, Jazz and Grunge influenced guitars a bass line and drum beat full of groove that will have you up and dancing, TITTS is a fantastic tune that will see DOTHS continue to climb the musical ladder.

Starting off with a groovy bassline, the vocal delivery immediately starts off as a spoken word conversation and immediately sets the scene for the night ahead,

The bridge and chorus are anthemic in nature, which I’m sure will be sung back by the crowd when it’s played live.

TITTS sounds great and is packed full of great melodies, great guitar riffs and a vocal that is brilliant, switching between spoken word to singing with ease and really draws you into the story being told.

With appearances at this years Belpher Music Festival (15th July on the railway stage) and Y Not Festival (Sat 29 July The Hog and Barrel stage), DOTHS are getting the recognition they fully deserve.

I’m a huge fan of DOTHS and their ambition in continuing to push their sound forward and determination to not be pigeonholed. It brings an excitement to each release whilst ensuring that each song connects with their ever growing audience. TITTS is a hugely exciting release and will ensure that 2023 is a year to remember.

Take It To The Streets is released on Friday 30th June and will be available on all streaming and download platforms.
