The Mease are a 5-piece indie psychedelic band hailing from Derby and they are set to release their feel good summer track Waiting For The Sun on Friday 30th June.
Consisting of Tristan Cooper on lead vocals/guitar, Guy Smith on lead guitar, Adam Goulding on keys, Jon Wright on drums and Jack Stanger on bass/percussion, The Mease had a real breakthrough year in 2022 with the release of their debut album, The World In Definition (read our 5-star review here,), which was sold in HMV Derby, playing at the opening of Derby Arena and Spotify selecting Long Long Road for the Fresh Finds Rock editorial playlist.
Waiting For The Sun is the bands first single to be released ahead of the bands second album due for release in late 2023.
The new single is full of groove and is upbeat, anthemtic and catchy: it’s an instant toe-taper and has been going down a storm when it’s been played live.
Kicking off with a catchy guitar hook that will soundtrack the summer, The Mease have taken things up a notch on this new single.

The vocal is fantastic and gives off Beach Boys vibes, with that point further reflected with the soaring harmonies that feature on the later part of the song and the 60s psychedelic effect added to the vocal in places.
The grove laden drumming carries the song forward which provides the song with a coolness and swagger that is hard to ignore.
An electrifying and rip-roaring guitar solo reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr provides a raw edge, just underlines the quality of musicianship that runs through the band.
Waiting For The Sun is an anthemic, catchy and feelgood track and sees The Mease continuing to impress. Having made a lasting impression thanks to last year’s explosive debut album, The Mease start off 2023 as a band who mean business. With festival appearances at Y Not Festival and Dionysus Festival of Psychedelic, The Mease are very much ones to watch this summer and beyond.
Waiting For The Sun is released on Friday 30th June and can be pre-saved here.
