Drinking For Two The Public Eye

Derby indie rockers, The Public Eye return with their brand new single ahead of debut appearance at Isle of Wight Festival.

The 4-piece formed at the end of 2021 and had a superb breakthrough year, releasing 5 singles, their debut EP In The Out Building and playing a storming set to an adoring audience on the BBC Introducing Stage at Y Not Festival.

2023 has seen The Public Eye release, Upper Parliament, supporting The Chase in Nottingham, playing their own headline show in Derby and making their first appearance in London, before heading to Isle of Wight Festival on The Platform stage on Sunday 18th June (5:30).

Drinking For Two sees The Public Eye opens with a whirl of feedback, before a combination of pounding drums and driving guitars takeover and leads into frontman Joey Greener’s unmistakable vocal.

There’s a real swagger about the track and if you like guitar filled indie then look no further, as The Public Eye oozes class and have released another undeniably anthemic tune.

Packed full of infections guitar riffs and hooks, rumbling bass lines, drumming that holds everything together and a melodic vocal.

The guitar solo is outstanding and is euphoric and will keep you hooked.

Whilst The Public Eye have largely stuck to the formula that has brought them considerable success, the chorus vocal sees the high notes hit, adding a vibrancy to the sound not seen before and has been pulled off with considerable ease.

Drinking For Two is a fantastic single that sees The Public Eye continue their march to stardom. For a group that are 17/18 they have already crafted their own sound, done with a swagger and class at the same time. Each song they’ve released so far are instant toe-tappers, and they deliver quality tunes every single time. The Public Eye have the world at their feet and are what the worlds been waiting for.

Drinking For Two is released on Friday 23rd June and can be pre-saved here.
