Nova Park are set to release their 3rd single Jah on Friday 21st April and they’ve delivered another fantastic and catchy indie anthem.
The band was founded by Jude Gummerson who has been gigging since he was 14 years old, accompanied by Owain Hanford (drums), Martin Whittaker (bassist) and Steve Gummerson (keys). Their two previous singles Go In and Alone, received plenty of local radio support and plenty of great feedback from across the music industry. I believe that Jah will get the same support and will see the band reach greater heights than the previous singles.
It’s a great indie anthem that draws influences from all of the great British bands, whilst being brought up to date with the bands own class and spin on rocknroll.
The song is jam packed with chugging and highly addictive guitar riffs, thunderous bass lines and pounding drumming which is capped off with a melodic vocal that soars above the rest of the band.
The guitar solos, both in the intro and the outro take the sound onto another level, making Jah a really addictive song and will keep you hooked throughout.
There’s a nod to Noel Gallagher’s Dead in The Water, in the second verse “I don’t know what I’m doing thinking ‘bout you honey, the photograph of you and still seems funny, trying’ to get it back” If you can’t borrow lyrics from the greatest songwriter of the past 30 years, then who can you borrow from!
Nova Park have taken things up a notch with this new single and you can the ever growing confidence within each band member’s playing. Their sound is really accomplished and sees the band release another quality tune.
Nova Park might be a new band and relatively unknown to many, but I’m confident that with the release of Jah, that’s all about to change.
Jah is release on Friday 21st April across all streaming and download platforms and can be pre-saved here.
