History is the latest single from Apollo Junction and is set to drop on April 6th. This is the next instalment following on from the bands run of recent single releases. History marks a change in direction to the bands usual release of music and showcases a side of the bands song writing ability that has yet to be seen.

Having seen their previous single By The River peak at number 8 in the digital charts along with a limited edition 7” double A side of History selling out in less than 24 hours, Apollo Junction are a band that are continue to impress with each release.

Through sheer hard work, word of mouth and their DIY approach to releasing and recording music, Apollo Junction are starting to gather huge momentum and it’s fully deserved. If you needed any more evidence then it can be found in the selling out of a series of acoustic shows across Yorkshire and being selected to play at the iconic Isle of Wight Festival in June.

History is packed full of emotion and is a tender ballad in style which opens up with a strumming acoustic guitar before drums, bass and synths join in.

The guitars in the chorus are really anthemtic and with the stunning strings really erupt into a music explosion of pure gold and adds a further sense of the vulnerability within the song.

Lyrically the song opens up about certain vulnerabilities. At a time when mental health and anxiety issues are becoming more prevalent, it’s great to see a band with a significant platform prepared to highlight this issue and share their own experiences.

“Anxiety
Look what you’ve done to me, When I cannot breathe
The weight of the world on me”

History demonstrates a band who are not prepared to rest on their laurels and have gambled on showing a different side to the bands songwriting, which has to be admired. It’s a great song, full of passion, emotion and the lyrical content of the song will resonate with many, cementing the bands position as a band of the people.

History is set for release on Thursday 6th April and can be pre-saved here.
