Wolforna Break You

As a key player not only in Leeds’ ever-evolving music scene but in modern-day hard rock, Wolforna are a four-piece on an impressive trajectory.

They formed in 2019 as an acoustic trio, consisting of Jack Crabtree (Vocals, Guitar), Adam Whittaker (Lead Guitar), Alex Waite (Bass) before adding Theo Fieldhouse (Drums) to the line up in 2021.

Having secured major support slots with for THE HARA, False Heads and BlackWaters, alongside plenty of small festival slots and headliner shows, as well as their debut show in London, Wolforna are well and truly on the way of making a long lasting impression with their catchy brand of rock, full of class rhythm guitars, melodic vocals and tight rhythm sections.

Their new single, Break You, sees the Leeds 4-piece, quite literally break out from that sound and release a fun, catchy punk tune that replaces their usual heavy sound with catchier hooks.

The opening guitar riff kicks off the song making this a real foot stomper, before a melodic vocal joins in and just as the song hits the 2nd verse and anthemic chorus, huge thunderous drums join in, giving the song real energy.

There’s a great interlude in the track, featuring guitars and drums, almost battling it out for centre stage (it’s a hard thought draw), before the stomping guitar riff picks the pace up again ahead of a fantastic outro that will leave to wanting more.

Lyrically the song navigates the push and pull of a toxic relationship and the reality of not wanting to end it, despite knowing starting in the relationship is not good for you. Whilst this is written from a personal view point, the songs content will be relatable to many.

Break You is a fantastic track and sees Wolforna release a sound that they’ve been working towards since they first formed. Break You marks the start of an exciting new era in terms of the bands sound and they’ve pulled it off with ease. I for one can’t wait to see what’s next.

Break You is released on Friday 17th March and can be pre-saved here.
