Southend indie rockers, San Quentin’s new single You’re Lost is out now and is described by the band as the anthem for the lost, found or somewhere in between. Examining our current world under a microscope reveals all the toxic content made readily available to anyone through social media & the internet.
Songwriter, Liam Cass, wanted to explore the damaging effect such content can have on young minds, as heard in the opening lyric; “it ain’t no shock to me this generation was born dead”.
A thundering drum beat and low key piano chords compliment the lyrical content of the song, before an upbeat and optimistic chorus shows light at the end of the tunnel & how to fight back against the damaging view of the world portrayed by the media.
To support the release of You’re Lost, San Quentin are releasing a fabulous animation/graphic style video, designed by Magnolialux, which is getting its worldwide premiere on ThisIsTheMusic today (10th March 2023): it’s a privilege to be involved in this huge milestone for the band.
“San Quentin are at the forefront of the revival of British guitar music and proving that they are well and truly rising rock n roll stars and will soon be a band on everyone’s lips”
ThisIsTheMusic (Chinnerys Live Review 2022)
Having formed in 2019, when songwriter Liam Cass and singer Owen Eves got together with drummer Luke Johns and bassist Nick Keep, before guitarist Dan Ridgwell, San Quentin have rapidly grown their fan-base through selling out several hometown shows in Southend (read our Chinnerys 2022 live review here), before going onto headline the iconic Water Rats in London and playing at two prestigious festivals in Y NOT (main stage) and Isle of Wight.

The end of 2022 saw the 5-piece go out on their first UK headline tour and their first national radio play coming from John Kennedy on Radio X.
With This Feeling selecting the band as one of their “Big in 2023” artists, San Quentin played a storming headline set at The Water Rats in which You’re Lost got its first live outing.
With plenty of festival slots set to be announced in the coming weeks, along with more new music, San Quentin are set to continue fulfil their undoubted promise and become rocknroll stars!
