Birmingham 4-piece The Silver Lines are one of the most exciting bands on the new music scene. They’ve consistently sold out hometown shows, are currently wowing audiences up and down the country with their energetic sets and are about to embark on their third tour of USA, performing at New York’s The New Colossus Festival before traveling across the country to headline Fox Pomona, Hotel Cafe, and The Paramount in Los Angeles.
Their new single Blow Dry is due for release on Thursday 2nd March and sees the band build on their momentum and prove they are well and truly worth the hype.
For those that have caught the band live over the past few months, Blow Dry has become a firm fan’s favourite and it’s easy to see why. I was blown away by the track on the first listen and on each listen thereafter, and I firmly believe this will be in people’s single of the year lists.
There’s a real punk sound to the track that is gripping and explodes out of the blocks, rattling along at a thunderous pace, whilst hurling a grenade towards the uglier aspects of society. Lyrically the song uses metaphors to explore our culture habit of rapidly casting judgment upon others.
The song is driven by supercharged drumming and gritty catchy guitar riffs and a snarling vocal. Mixed together this is an infectious track that you just cannot ignore.
Blow Dry is an electric single full of energy and great musicianship. It will definitely have you pressing that repeat button as it’s so infectious. It’s a great tune and cements the band’s credentials as band to get truly excited about. Remember the name as The Silver Lines will continue to blow audiences away and become massive in the process: all on their own terms too.
Blow Dry is released on Thursday 2nd March and can be pre-saved here.
