42s Records latest signing Senses releases anthemic new single Harder Now (For Love) ahead of debut album release.
Having gone on a hiatus prior to lockdown, disillusioned with the industry, the first lockdown worked in the bands favour as it brought them back together.
They started writing songs for themselves, and released Drop Your Arms and Drifting, which gained radio recognition from the likes of BBC Introducing and XS Manchester thus convincing the Coventry 4-piece, which consists of: Brian Callan – (Lead Vocals, Guitar): Kevin Kavanagh – (Guitar), Renan O’Connor – (Bass) Ian Finnegan – (Drums, Keyboards, Backing Vocals) that they were onto something.
They’ve since signed to 42s Records (probably the most important indie label in the country right and certainly the most important since Creation) and have got 3 singles planned ahead of a debut album set for release at the end of April.
The first of those singles is Harder Now (For Love), a beast of a rocknroll anthem which is driven by its driving bass lines, epic guitar riffs and pounding drums.
There’s a hint of early Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in the tempo and the garage rock sound. The drums are punchy and give the song its fast paced tempo from the first beat to the fading synth which climaxes the song.
“We’re delighted to have signed to 42’s Records and to have HARDER NOW as our first single on the label, It’s a real statement of intent! It’s one of those tracks that just came together very quickly from a jam session. We really threw our emotions into it and we think there’s a real immediacy to it as a result, you can hear it in the pounding drums, fuzz bass and the vocals, “you’ve taken everything out of me!
Rónán O’Connor
The chorus is instantly memorable and in-between pogoing, will be sung back to the band, by the fans at the top of their voices.
“You’ve taken everything out from me, Harder Now, Harder Now, Harder Now, For the Love”
Harder Now (For Love) is an explosive, rousing and euphoric stadium ready rocknroll anthem. It’s a song that will feature in everyone’s song of the year list and ensures that the Coventry 4-piece are a band to believe and get excited in. Bring on the album!
Harder Now (For Love) is released on Friday 3rd March and can be pre-saved here.
Harder Now (For The Love) was produced by Gavin Monaghan at Magic Garden Studios in Wolverhampton. (Editors, Slow Reader’s Club, The Twang, Kid Kapichi)
