Midlands 4-piece Death Of The High Street (DOTHS) return with fast paced energetic new single Not Fair.

Having burst onto the scene in 2021 with the release of their debut single Exit, on Alan McGee’s It’s Creation Baby label, DOTHS, have continued to deliver infectious high-energetic anthems, telling tales of everyday life, ensuring they provide social commentary on difficult topics that are often ignored.

The new single Not Fair is released on Friday 10th February and sees them aiming their usual stoic scorn not on the scourges of the modern world but on age old kitchen sink drama of relationships, love and drama.

As we’ve come to expect from a DOTHS track they’ve literally thrown everything into the track and carried on true to their style: powerful drumming, discordant guitars, fuzzy bass riffs and huge passionate vocals.

I’ve had this track on repeat for a few days and I believe this is the bands best to date. It’s catchy and powerful track full of swagger and relentless energy that has become their trademark.

Opening with a melodic catchy guitar hook that continues throughout, Not Fair is fast paced, full of of energy and raucous noise. The track is well written with relative lyrics on relationships, love and drama.

The chorus will be relatable to many of those who have questioned a relationship that’s run out of steam.

“Is it really possible? For people to change? ’cus it seems so improbable! ‘Cus I’m always gonna be this way”

The vocal really hits the spot, filled with plenty of passion and whilst this song is undoubtedly relatable to many, you can’t help but wonder if it’s sung from a personal perspective.

Whilst this track is predominantly relentless in its energy, the band drop the pace, which starts off with feedback, the catchy guitar hook and crashing cymbals before slowly building the tempo up, with a guitar solo that soars, before a final explosion into the outro.

Not Fair is a powerful, anthemic and energetic song, full of relevance. The time is now for DOTHS to become your new favourite band.

Not Fair is released on Friday 10th February and can be pre-saved here.

You can catch the band chatting about the single to me on the ThisIsTheMusic meets podcast which will be dropping next week!
