The Utopiates are kicking off 2023 in style with the release of their new single Making History which will be released on Friday 3rd February.
If that wasn’t enough, the band who have amassed over 200k streams and signed to legendary label V2 Records are also set to release their debut album The Sun Also Rises on May 5th.
Making History continues The Utopiates tradition of delivering songs with a kaleidoscope of explosive sounds that leave a lasting impression and keep you coming back for more.
Making History is the penultimate single before the release of their debut album (which is an album of the year contender) and sees the song built around a groove laden almost tribal like drum beat: it’s upbeat and very catchy.
A blend of guitars and mellotrons fill the track with a vibrancy and energy, that will ensure you are instantly dancing around.
“Making History epitomises the confidence running through the band right now. From the get-go this project has been the self-fulfilling prophecy consuming our lives and ‘The Sun Also Rises’ will prove what we’ve always known. Making History was written from Dan’s bedroom at the dawning of The Utopiates and has basically become his mantra! ‘One day you’ll see, yeah they’ll look at me, I’m not up here making tunes I’m making history!’ Says it all really. The vocal is fantastic and crisp and like the track itself has a coolness and swagger about it.
The stunning guitar solo sounds like The Stone Roses at the their peak: but it’s also unmistakably The Utopiates as they really let loose with their creativity.
Making History is a fantastic groove laden anthem, that is catchy and upbeat and showcases The Utopiates at the top of their game. Bring on the album!
