Sour Speech are a 5-piece art-pop punk band hailing from North Wales and Chester. Having spent 2022 gigging relentlessly under their previous band name The Remedies, they’ve earned a reputation as a powerful force of nature on the local live scene.
The 5-piece, consisting of Andy Stoddart (Guitar) Tom Walsh (Lead Guitar) Jay Rogers (Drums) Russ Pearson (Bass) and Bethaney Wellings-Davies (Vocals) decided on the name change after deciding The Remedies didn’t truly represent them as a band anymore, which has led to a total re-brand; but the original bands trademark energy and passion remains fully intact under the new guise.

The new single Take Your Time is filled with huge guitar riffs, a commanding, powerful vocal; a great rock voice full of self-assurance; that instantly hooks you and knocks you off your feet.
The energy within the track builds to a mesmeric guitar solo, backed by pounding drums and thundering bass lines, before a brief pause before exploding back into life for one final run of that memorable chorus that will be sung back to the band when played live.
Lyrically the song explores the modern day obsession of toxic social media and not believing everything that you read online.
This is a great debut single and certainly lays down a marker for things to come. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Take Your Time is due for release on Friday 3rd February and can be pre-saved here.
