Shambolics set to release emotive fan favourite as new single
Scottish band Shambolics are gearing up for their 3rd single release ahead of their debut EP release U Serious Boi?! which is available for pre-order here (released on 14th April via Scruff of the Neck Records).
Living In Shadows is a track that has featured on and off in the bands live sets over the past couple of years, and has a great melody, excellent musicianship and delivered with full of passion.
It’s a stunning and courageous acoustic ballad full of emotion that develops into the type of anthem that will have you rushing back to press repeat on.
Lyrically this song seeks to raise awareness of mental health struggles that many face at this time of year.
“Living In Shadows” is a song of optimism. It’s a song of hope for anyone going through a dark time. After seeing friends struggle badly with mental health and having gone through a few bad patches in our own lives, we wanted to write a song that was a reminder to people that darkness is only temporary and that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel”

The vocals are full of heartfelt emotion and feature the ‘sham’s trademark harmonies along with gentle guitar strumming and a catchy rich melody and, with the stunning strings, Shambolics demonstrate they are willing to release something outside of their comfort zone; which adds to the sense of feeling and sentiment in the meaning of the song.
Living In Shadows is a song that will resonate with many and has been produced and delivered with a genuine understanding of mental health issues and oozes class.
Having just signed to Scruff of the Neck Records it’s clear that Shambolics are well and truly at the top of their game and will be one of the great bands of their generation.
Living In Shadows is due to be released on Friday 20th January and can be pre-saved here.
In support of the release of their debut EP, U Serious Boi?! Shambolics will play Glasgow Garage on Saturday 15th April. Tickets can be purchased here.
