Having formed in August 2022, Glasgow 4-piece Hazy Sundays have wasted no-time in establishing themselves as one of the most exciting rocknroll bands emerging from Scotland.
Their two singles to date, Never Know (which featured in our Top 10 singles of 2022) and All You Ever Wanted have gained them recognition across the UK and beyond, thanks to their energetic riff filled anthems and pummelling drum beats.
Their new single, Losing Control sees the Glasgow 4-piece; consisting of Shaun Kenny (Vocals and Rhythm guitar), Mark Devlin (Lead Guitar), Ross Mcdonald (Bass) and rPete Cannon (Drums), slow the tempo down and deliver a melodic ballad and show a completely different side to the band from what we’ve seen to date.
A rhythmic acoustic guitar strums and chimes to get things going, giving the song an upbeat feel before a catchy drum beat and a thumping bass line join in. The guitar riffs, and in particular the sweeping guitar solo are superb, showcasing the talent that exists within the band and sounds like a band that are ready made for stadiums.
The vocal is fantastic, delivered with a passion and energy which is unmistakably Shaun. The anthemic chorus will be an “arms around your mate moment” when it’s played live and will be sung back word for word.
“If you are losing control and you just can’t seem to let it go, we’ll you’ll never know anymore oh no”
Losing Control is anthemtic, uplifting and, like the two previous releases is extremely catchy. I like that Hazy Sundays are making a name for themselves on their own terms and it’s obvious to me that it’s only a matter of time before they are embarking on headline tours across the country and wowing festivals.
Losing Control is set for release on Friday 6th January and will be available across on streaming and download platforms.
Hazy Sundays are headlining the Audio, Glasgow on Friday 3rd February. Tickets can be purchased here. Support on the night will be provided by The Silver Lines, Easy Peelers and Kate McCabe.
